Otuzco
We owned eight concessions totaling 3,400 hectares on our Otuzco silver-lead-zinc
project in Peru. After conducting a detailed geological evaluation of the concessions,
we determined that the mineral potential at the Otuzco project did not meet our
requirements. We have entered into an agreement with Apoquindo Minerals Inc.,
a Canadian junior exploration company, to sell the concessions for a total of
$3.0 million, payable in installments over four years. We received the initial
payment of $150,000 in 2008, and $35,000 in 2009; the remaining installment payments
are due as follows: $350,000 in 2010, $500,000 in 2011, $900,000 in 2012 and
$1,100,000 in 2013. If these payments are not completed, the property will be
returned to us and we will retain all amounts previously paid.
