Warren Rehn
President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Rehn was appointed President in May 2015 and appointed Chief Executive Officer and Director in September 2015. Mr. Rehn previously served as Senior Vice President, Exploration and Chief Geologist since December 2012 and served as Vice President, Exploration and Chief Geologist since February 2012. From 2007 until February 2012, Mr. Rehn held various positions at Barrick Gold Exploration, Inc., serving most recently as Chief Exploration Geologist for the Bald Mountain and Ruby Hill mining units. Mr. Rehn was a consulting geologist for Gerson Lehman Group from 2005 to 2007 and additionally provided consulting services for Barrick in 2006 and 2007. Mr. Rehn served as a Consulting Senior Geologist at Placer Dome Exploration, Inc. in 2004 and as an independent consulting geologist throughout the Americas from 1994 until 2003. He held previous roles including Senior Geologist at Noranda Exploration, Inc. and Project Geologist and Senior Geologist for Gold Fields Mining Corp. Mr. Rehn holds a Master of Science degree in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Idaho.

Pablo Castanos
Executive Vice President

Mr. Castanos joined Golden Minerals as Executive Vice President in July 2023. Mr. Castanos has over 20 years of global and strategic leadership expertise, including 12 years in the mining industry, with past positions focusing on strategic planning, finance, compliance, sustainability, government affairs and risk management. From 2017 to 2023, he served as managing partner of Integra QRO Hold and Magnolia OneZero Investments, LLC, real estate development and construction companies located in Querétaro, Mexico and Austin, Texas, respectively. From 2013 to 2016, he worked at Goldcorp Inc. (now Newmont Corporation) in Vancouver, Canada, initially as director of environmental compliance and subsequently as vice president of corporate social responsibility. From 2009 to 2013, he worked at Golden Minerals, first as director and later vice president of corporate affairs. Between 2007 and 2009, he served as director of investor relations with Apex Silver Mines, and from 2004 to 2007 he served as corporate manager of Minera San Cristóbal, the largest silver, zinc and lead mine in Bolivia.

Mr. Castanos holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance, with honors, from Gabriela Mistral University in Santiago, Chile.

Julie Weedman
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Weedman joined Golden Minerals in January 2022 as Vice President Finance, assuming the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer role in April 2022. Prior to joining Golden Minerals, Ms. Weedman served as Vice President Finance of Aerospace Contacts LLC from March 2020 to January 2022. She previously served as controller for Cupric Canyon Capital LLC from March 2015 until December 2019 and as corporate controller of Mercator Minerals Ltd. from June 2012 to January 2015. Prior to joining Mercator, Ms. Weedman worked from 2006 to 2012 for Ducommun Corporation, serving in several capacities including site controller and group controller for its Ducommun Technologies division. She also spent 10 years at Phelps Dodge Corporation in various financial roles including assistant controller of Chino Mines Co. in Silver City, New Mexico. Ms. Weedman began her career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche. She holds a B.S. in accountancy from Northern Arizona University.

Karen Winkler
Director of Investor Relations and Assistant Corporate Secretary

Ms. Winkler has been with Golden Minerals since 2011 and serves as the company’s Director of Investor Relations. She has over 25 years of experience encompassing roles in investor relations, corporate financial & strategic planning, and fixed income derivatives origination, sales & structuring in London, New York and Denver (Colorado). Previous roles include Director of Financial Planning at Qwest Communications, Associate Director of Fixed Income Risk Management at both Union Bank of Switzerland and Bear, Stearns International in London, England, and Senior Financial Analyst and Investor Relations Associate at ProLogis in Denver. Ms. Winkler holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and a past officer of NIRI's Rocky Mountain chapter.
